DIS opens office in Spain
In the wind power industry Spain is one of the leading nations and the country’s ambitious conversion to green energy is now taking DIS on a new growth adventure in the global wind power market.
Over the past decade, Spain has doubled the installed wind power capacity and currently a fifth of the country’s total electricity production comes from wind power. Spain is ranked as the world’s fifth largest producer of wind power, with a market that is at least four times the size of the Danish. The positive development in the Spanish market now allows the engineering and R&D company DIS (Dansk IngeniørService A/S) to target the Spanish wind power market.
Growing Spanish market
DIS has already registered the company CREADIS Innovative Engineering S.A. and opened the first office in Barcelona, the next will open in Pamplona. According to Mogens Hess, Chairman of DIS the opportunities are very interesting:
- Spain has had a strong focus on converting the national energy resources into wind. Spain has been through quite an impressive development when it comes to the conversion to wind power and it is with no doubt due to focused political initiatives.
More global offices
In the span of few years, DIS has opened several offices in countries like Poland, Germany, Ukraine and USA. In Spain, DIS will also focus on business areas such as automotive and defense, but according to Mogens Hess there is an increased demand on wind power expertise:
- We are approached in the global market and we will definitely have a stronger focus on the markets abroad in the future. We expect to use our experiences from Spain’s large wind power market to develop our business in general. The market will have a positive impact on our competitiveness on both prices and knowledge, and Spain will probably be a decisive driving force for the further development of our company.
