DIS has helped Nilfisk in designing a vacuum cleaner for the Australian and European market which is a challenge where experience and innovative thinking are highly demanded.
At Nilfisk it is not unlikely to use external designers at the beginning of a development. According to Ole Nerst, Project Manager at Nilfisk, it brings more inspiration, innovation and tempo into the design process when using an external designer. This is what happened when Anders Løvenkjær, designer at DIS, and Nilfisk began working together on a new vacuum project called Action.
In the design business, the demands towards the designer are high if the end product is to succeed. “It is crucial that the external designer stays tuned and makes himself acquainted with the market conditions on which we operate,” says Ole Nerst.
The outcome was not only satisfying but also a result of hard work.
